Japanese Culture Series: Karuta Culture Exchange
Date/Time: June 17 (Tuesday), 18:30–20:30 ※Door opens at 18:00
Contents: Join us for a unique and creative event hosted by the student group CORUNUM, where you’ll reflect on your personal memories and cultural experiences through a fun, hands-on Karuta activity! In this session, you’ll create original English Karuta cards (Japanese traditional card game) based on a short memory or experience. Following that, you will compete cross-culturally against other participants. This is a great chance to express your ideas, learn about different cultures, and connect with others.
About CORUNUM: CORUNUM is a student-led group composed of members from various universities and high schools. By creating cross-sector connections between companies, universities, NPOs, and other groups, the organization aims to contribute to the creation of a sustainable society where individuals can make the most of their strengths.

Title: Raising Global Awareness: Unlocking Global Potential in Students and Institutions

Contents: Student mobility is increasing globally, and universities need to establish a global presence in order to attract international students. In this session, we will introduce Professor Miki’s personal experiences, best practices, and lessons learned. After that, we will discuss strategies that Japanese universities should adopt around the experiences of the participants.
